No.249 of 10th October, 1939, regarding the measures
to be proposed at a meeting of the Legislative Council
which was held on Tuesday, 12th October, I have the
honour to inform you that I will acquaint you of the
views of the unofficial members of the Council on the
proposals as soon as their views have been declared.
I take this opportunity of forwarding for
your information copies of speeches made by myself
and the Financial Secretary at the meeting referred
to above. Copies of leading articles from the South
China Morning Post and from the Hong Kong Telegraph
are also enclosed for your information.
